The game language must be set to Japanese. The tool reads the screen using the Japanese version of the game, so it does not work with other languages as is. If you want to play in English, the code is available on GitHub. Modify it for the English screens and use it.
How one run goes
- You: Create a new user on the Switch, start the game and go to the language selection screen
- PC: Chooses the language, appearance and name, then plays through dialogue, cutscenes and battles
- You: At one point along the way, walk through a section by hand that cannot be done with the same input every time
- PC: Plays the rest and stops where you can receive the Mystery Gift
When it is your turn, the PC releases all buttons and notifies you with an alert and a sound. When you are done, press "Start" on the dashboard to hand control back to the PC.
Features
Watch progress on the dashboard
It shows the Switch screen, the buttons being pressed, the current section and the elapsed time.
Stops and hands over when something goes wrong
Movement replays the inputs recorded while a person walked, with the same timing. Some things in the game differ every time (the positions of people and Pokémon walking around, loading times and so on), so movement can fail. When it fails, control is handed to you once the time limit passes. Walk to the start of the next section and press "Start" to continue from there.
Manual control from the keyboard
When it is your turn, you can play with your PC keyboard from the browser where the dashboard is open.
What you need

- A Bluetooth adapter that works with NUXBT
- An HDMI capture card (one that can capture at 1280×720)
- A Nintendo Switch and Pokémon Legends: Z-A
